What Happened to Summer?! Part I The Remodel

It's taken me forever to learn how to get my pictures on this thing, but here it is... finally. I'll be playing catch up wtih my posts. What happened to summer will probably be a three part blog series. Wish me luck...

Well, it's official, summer is over. I throughly enjoyed every moment of it! I had fun in my yard and flower beds, tried growing bell peppers (not so good), had fun fishing, had a nice vacation, had some remodeling done, got a promotion, started a new job, and oh so much more.

Part I:

The remodel. Posted are some before and after pictures. Our main bath room has now joined the current century. New finishes, nothing faux. I love it. The process was somewhat painful. It took longer and cost more than the estimate but everytime I'm in my little bathroom there is nothing that glares at me... it's done, it's peaceful. Sometimes old bathrooms, no matter how you bleach and scrub them, they just don't look clean. Such was the case with my 70's bathroom and it's many faded faux surfaces. Not so anymore! This bathroom remodel is was a long time coming. Hope you like it.

Where did May go?

May was jam packed with all kinds of activity!! Time flew by!

Things we did in May:

Hubby's folks were here visiting. We had a very good time. Mom and I played tourist and shopped downtown, went up the tram, had lunch and enjoyed ourselves throughly. Dad and Hubby did a lot of fishing. We all got in on the act a bit. The tally so far this summer is three salmon, two halibut, about half a dozen rock fish, and a few crab. Yummy!

Mr. B gets to go on the road with grandma and grandpa. They've got quiet an itenerary planned and will enjoy every minute of it. Once they're all said and done, we'll have to post pictures.

All the kids have been busy with the end of the school year and are very excited to see it come to a close. Miss K. wrapped up a very successful track season with three first place miles, one second place mile, and a first and second in the 800. Mr. C. built his own computer in tech club and will enjoy the fruits of his labor for a long time, I'm sure. Mr. B has had quiet a little league season. His team is 5/3. He's doing great and having a chance to play several different positions.

Work has been crazy busy. I'm doing my best to try to ensure a smooth transition for my incumbant as well as prepare for my next position, but with the pace of things, it's been tough. July 13 it'll be all said done, one way or another. I can hardly wait. I will say, I work with a great group, and even though I'm just going across the hall, I'll miss working with them.

Miscellaneous stuff that we've been working on... we got a new outboard on the boat, that has helped w/ the fishing :) and we're working on fixing up the bathroom. I'm super excited about both. When the project is over, I'll post before and after pictures.

I think that's about it for now. Take care, God bless - M

First Blog Ever

I am new to the world of blogging and not exactly sure what to post. I've been informed this is a great way to stay in touch and an outlet, cheaper than a psychologist. Sounds good so far. For my first debut into the blogosphere I'll just try to update family and friends on what's been going on in Jonzie's world.

Big accomplishments lately:

I am going to be promoted. Super exciting! It will probably happen late summer, early fall, I will for sure keep you all posted. I also received a new tour here in Alaska which is great news. I've always thought it a good idea to be co-located with ones mortgage. I've also (finally) finished my bachelors degree. For now I'll enjoy a break and prepare for the new job. Eventually I'll decide on a new pursuit.

For hubby, he's busy with work and we're all looking forward to spring and all the new activities that brings with it. We're hoping to get the big boat in the water and be able to do some long fishing weekends.

Kids are all busy with school and activities. Miss. K is busy with volleyball. Mr. C tried his hand at wrestling. He also went through a hunter safety course, as a part of the school curriculum. He did very well passing w/ flying colors. He's looking forward to going on his first hunt. Mr. B has been very into cub scouts and doing quiet well earning badges, etc.

Other than that, not much news in the last frontier. Take care, God Bless,
